Early Learning to Year 12
Congratulations Izaak on being announced as a 2021 Young Artist with the West Australian Ballet. Izaak left Westminster in 2016 at the end of Year 10 after being offered a position in the prestigious Australian Ballet School. Being a former Ballet School Captain and Class of 2020 Level 8, Izaak’s achievement is well-deserved. He was a superstar dancer at Westminster and we knew he would make the most of his time at the Australian Ballet School. Izaak’s career as a professional dancer is definitely one to follow!
Congratulations Tom for being recognised as the City of Mitcham’s Young Citizen of the Year. Pictured here with City of Mitcham Mayor Heather Holmes-Ross, Tom is a tree advocate and keen to educate the community on the importance of the tree canopy in the urban environment. He is the founder of ’20 Metre Trees’, an avid facebook community created to identify and promote significant and historic trees, and their protection under current legislation.
We were privileged to be able to hold the Memorial Service for Pete Henricks (’77) in the Sir Shirley Jeffries Memorial Chapel on Saturday 27 February. The service was live-streamed to his family in the UK and can be watched through this link: https://youtu.be/tnsd53t58tg
We're away and running again with the 5 Year Reunion being our first for 2021, and it is a 5 Year Reunion with a twist because it is not only for the Class of 2016, but also Classes of 2015 and 2014 as we play catch-up! This Reunion is being held on Friday 12 March, 6.00 to 8.00 pm at the Sturt Grove Farm so please join us for a paella night! Because we want to be able to celebrate this special occasion (even if it at six and seven years), WOSA is providing a nice subsidy for this event - book through this link: https://www.trybooking.com/BORNY.
Following the 5 Year Reunion, the next will be the Classes of 1995/1996 25 Year Reunion on Friday 21 May in the new Thomas Pavilion at Westminster – more details to be released. Check out the new Westminster News, last eNews and Old Scholars’ facebook page for more Reunion information planned through the year.
