Westminster Foundation

Westminster School Foundation

Westminster turns your generous support into action by funding Scholarship and project opportunities. Together, we can make a difference to the lives of current and future students and assist the School in achieving its mission to provide an exceptional education for students.

Since the School’s inception in 1961, Westminster School has benefited from the generous support of our community and working together to achieve many amazing milestones. This culture of giving was the driving force in the establishment of the Westminster School Foundation in 1987. Today, the Foundation supports the current and future priorities of the School through the provision of new and improved educational and learning facilities and providing scholarships for promising students regardless of circumstances.

It is you, our Old Scholars, our friends, our community that support each other and our students and are a part of creating an exceptional future for education. If we are to continue to radically change our infrastructure, transform our campus, and provide opportunities to more students to receive scholarships, we need philanthropy. Every gift makes a difference.

Foundation Focus Areas

The Westminster School Foundation is a charitable organisation and most donations are tax-deductible. The Foundation has three Funds reflecting its focus areas:

Education Fund

Donations to our Education Fund gives some of our most talented and disadvantaged students access to a great Westminster education through Scholarships. Donors can support a scholarship to reflect their own interests: academic distinction, all-round excellence, talent in the performing arts, or for Indigenous or Refugee students, among others. We also invite support for professional research fellowships for our teachers, for prizes and awards for students in both the Prep and Senior School and for gifts made in memoriam.

Building Fund

Westminster is renowned for its expansive grounds and outstanding facilities, many of which were built with the help of donations from the community, through the Foundation. Westminster has ambitious goals to continually improve the physical learning environment for its students with its current Campus Masterplan (published 2019) that is shaping Westminster to meet the needs of an ever-changing world. With the generous financial support of our community, we have achieved many amazing milestones including the Murray Centre for Performing Arts, the Sports and Swimming Centre, the Sturt Grove Farm, the Westventure campsite, the Boarding Precinct, the Mathwin Centre, and, most recently, the Inquiry & Innovation Hub, Thomas Pavilion and new Carter Wing.

Library Fund

Gifts to the Library Fund are tax-deductible and go directly towards the purchase of books and other learning resources for our two School Libraries enriching the learning experience for Westminster students.
