Campus Masterplan

Celebrating the completion of a five-year vision.

When was the last time you visited us? If it was more than five years ago, you’ll be in for a surprise. In October 2022, we mark a magnificent milestone when our $40 million transformative Campus Masterplan is officially completed.

The Campus Masterplan Achievements

The five-year development pipeline has resulted in an impressive build of world-class educational facilities at the School. You can find out more information about some of these spaces using the links below.

  • The Forder Centre, a three-storey facility housing the contemporary Martin Library, music and drama faculties, the School’s dining hall and Dragon community café with its outlook to our sports grounds.
  • A superb new entrance and extended foyer to our renowned Michael Murray Centre for Performing Arts.
  • A new Year 12 Centre for senior students to collaborate and socialise.
  • The Inquiry and Innovation Hub, a tri-level specialist STEM centre with state-of-the-art science laboratories, technology, engineering, fashion, materials and food tech learning spaces.
  • The Thomas Sports Pavilion with spectacular views over our extensive playing fields.
  • The Carter Wing, home to creative arts, digital media and our STRETCH (Learning Support) Centre.
  • A second dedicated Dance studio to support our leading Dance program.
  • The vibrant Westminster Green, a landscaped open space, designed to connect the Campus Masterplan facilities together.

But our buildings are more than just walls…

The Campus Masterplan is the most significant investment in learning undertaken by Westminster since our opening in 1961. While we can proudly tick the projects that have formed this exceptional transformation, like every building on our spacious campus, it’s what happens inside that really counts.

We’re constantly discovering effective ways of adapting our infrastructure for teaching and learning to meet the needs of an ever-changing world. The Campus Masterplan has facilitated this at lightspeed by creating a multitude of specialised, flexible educational spaces for staff and students, from ELC to Year 12.

…and some things will never change!

While our visionary Campus Masterplan has spanned five years of ambitious change, we are respectful of the rich history and traditions built by our supportive community for more than 60 years. Some structures have been replaced but their names live on. Every year, we celebrate successful learning and student outcomes, past and present, day and boarding, and this will never change. As we have done since that first school day in 1961, we’re continually building and renewing Westminster for young minds to grow and be the very best they can be under the guidance of highly accomplished, specialist teachers.

Share in our celebration

We invite you to join us for a personalised tour to see what Westminster can offer your family. We’ll proudly show you our new world-class buildings and even more proudly, how young minds are being built inside them to achieve more than they ever thought possible.
