Parent Book Club

A reminder that our Parent Book Club will be held on Wednesday 12 June at 7.00 pm in the Haslam Library. We will be looking at the book “Daring Greatly: how the courage to be vulnerable transforms the way we live, love, parent and lead”, by Brené Brown. If you are interested in attending, I encourage you to source the book (I know it is available online, and possibly through bookstores as well). Our Book Club is open to all parents across the school from ELC to Year 12. If you are planning to attend, please RSVP to me via Email. For your information, there is a talk on Netflix by Brené Brown which covers a lot of the content of the book, and Brené also has a TED talk on vulnerability.

Unmasked – Perfectly Imperfect

On Tuesday 25 June (Week 9), we will be holding a day for all Year 7 to 9 students to explore the concept of embracing who we are, and being our true selves. In today’s social media world, it can be hard for students to value themselves for their unique qualities and this in turn can impact their mental health and wellbeing. To explore these ideas, we are delighted to welcome a number of Old Scholars back to Westminster for the day, to share their own life journeys and highlight how they have navigated the world in resilient ways that have enabled them to grow as people. The day will involve guest speakers, discussion, art and other creative activities and will take place on-site at Westminster. There will be more detail to follow.
