Friends of Westminster - Edition 5 - 2021

Friends of Westminster (FOW)

A huge thank to everyone who helped out with the BBQ at WestFest - from our suppliers (a special thank you to Westminster parent Luke Sincock!) who helped with our stock to our volunteers who cooked and prepared hamburgers, the sausage sizzle and buckets of chips throughout the late afternoon to early evening. Overall, it was a huge success and great to be involved in a large community event again.

Friends of Music (FOM)

We were at WestFest with our Ivory Keys raffle in support of new pianos, offering some super prizes, the headliner being our Vuly trampoline and a weekend away. We sincerely thank Vuly for their generous donation, which will include delivery to an Adelaide address (other addresses possible, subject to discussion/confirmation). The raffle is still going and ticket sales are moving along nicely – thank you to all ticket holders (so far) for your support! This week we’ve been involved with the School musical School of Rock and thank all patrons who took advantage of our pre-show and interval hospitality, and our team of volunteers who made it happen.

For those of you without a ticket, the good news is you can still be in the draw. Tickets are $20 each or 3 tickets for $50. Prizes include a $1049 Vuly Medium Ultra Trampoline, two nights’ accommodation at the Time Out Train Station or Clare Cottage on Wendouree, and Lost Buoy Wines. Raffle tickets can be purchased through https://www.trybooking.com/BPTSG – a ticket number will be emailed to you after purchase. The draw will take place at the Westminster Jazz Night at ‘The Gov’ Tuesday 27 April but you don’t have to be in attendance. The first ticket drawn will be able to choose which prize they would prefer.

But if you would like to be there to be pleasantly surprised by your winning raffle ticket, you are welcome to purchase event tickets for the Westminster Jazz Night through www.trybooking.com/BPZBM. There is also an early dinner option available from 5.30 pm through ‘The Gov’.

Winemakers of Westminster

At WestFest we had the privilege of being able to offer some top range wines for tasting made by members of our School community. Labels such as Gemtree, Battle of Bosworth, Chapel Hill, Snowdragon, Lost Buoy, Main and Cherry, and Top Range. They were popular and rightly so! So much so we’re are looking at creating a Winemakers of Westminster Mixed Dozen. It is a collection that will be unique to Westminster. If you are interested in registering your interest for a dozen when details are worked out, please contact me. Of course, if you are a Westminster Winemaker and would like to be involved, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
