Friends of Westminster - Edition 3 - 2021

Friends of Westminster (FOW)

Plans are coming together nicely for WestFest on Sunday 21 March. We are still looking for volunteers so if you are able to give an hour or two of your time, we would be very grateful. There will be some volunteering leading into WestFest around setting up and pack down, carparking, QR Code registering, BBQ and other food, drinks and some select trading stalls. We want everyone to spend time with their family so will keep the rosters tight. If you are available, please email the School’s Development Office through E: development@westminster.school to express your availability and preferred time between 4.00 and 8.00 pm (or just outside of these for set up and pack down). We’ll work out the schedule so that it is fair to all.

Parents’ Club (PC)

The Parents’ Club will also be helping out at WestFest with a dessert bar. Following WestFest, it is all eyes on our Mother’s Day lunch on Friday 7 May at the Marion Hotel. It’s a ‘save the date’ for now but watch out for more information in the coming weeks.

Boarder Parents’ Association (BPA)

Carter Browne (Year 3) is the winner of our calf naming competition with ‘Nellie’ who will be the star of the show. We’ll soon be launching our Cow Pat Lotto site through which you can buy your ticket/s. Essentially, you want Nellie to leave a big enough deposit on your assigned square (in a grid of 100) to be the cash winner. More will be released very shortly.

Friends of Music (FOM)

We’ll also be at WestFest and planning a raffle and then it’s onto the ‘School of Rock’ where we intend to keep you refreshed during interval. This is my last entry as President of FOM, now having handed over to Catriona Byrne. Thank you to all who have helped FOM and me personally during my tenure. I know Catriona will be a great President with a very supportive team to help her. Look for Catriona’s article in the next eNews!
