Book Week Parade
We're delighted to invite families to our annual Book Week Parade, celebrating this year's theme, Symphony of Stories.
Following the success of last year's event, the parade will once again be held in the same format.
Event Details:
Date: Friday 28 August (Week 6)
Time: 9.00 am – 10.20 am
Location: Michael Murray Centre for Performing Arts (seating will be available on the stage and at the back of the Michael Murray Centre. Standing areas will also be available.)
Join us as students bring their favourite stories to life by dressing as book characters that inspire imagination and adventure. It's a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading together as a School community.
A coffee van will be available from 8.00 am for families wishing to purchase a coffee before the parade begins.
Costumes can be as simple or as elaborate as families choose. A homemade costume, a favourite hat or prop or dressing in the colours of a book character can be just as effective as a store-bought costume. The most important thing is celebrating a love of reading and books.
We look forward to celebrating Book Week with you and seeing the creativity our students bring to this special event.
Class and Co-curricular Photos
A reminder that Preparatory School class photos will take place on Monday 24 August. All Preparatory School students are required to wear their full winter formal uniform, including those who would usually have a Physical Education lesson that day. Physical Education activities will be adapted to suit formal uniform.
Co-curricular and sibling photos will be held on Tuesday 25 August and Wednesday 26 August. Students participating in these photos are also asked to wear their full winter formal uniform. Please ensure blazers are worn without jumpers underneath.
Thank you for your support in helping students look their best for photo day.
Father's Day Gift Stall
Father's Day is just around the corner and the Westminster Parents & Friends Club is delighted to offer Preparatory School students the opportunity to purchase a small gift for their dad or a special person in their life.
Each gift has been carefully selected and features a special Father's Day message, providing an affordable way for students to celebrate the important people in their lives.
On Wednesday 12 August, students in the Preparatory School will visit the Father's Day display with their class to view the available gifts and choose the item they may like to purchase.
After your child has made their selection, families can place their order online by clicking here.
Once orders close, the Parents & Friends Club volunteers will prepare each order, with gifts distributed to students through their class during the week leading up to Father's Day.
For more information about this initiative, please contact the Parents & Friends Club at westminsterparentsandfriends@gmail.com.
Save the date for our annual Father's Day breakfast which will be held on Friday 4 September in the Preparatory School Gym. More details to follow.
