Preparatory School Development Opportunities

Please note that all these sessions are optional.

For all other sessions we are happy for students to attend for the first 1 or 2 weeks to establish if they enjoy the session and feel it is beneficial – after that it is expected that students will attend every week until the end of the term.

Soccer Development Program (Neil Young Academy)

Terms: 1, 2 & 3

Weeks: Term 1 & 2 (weeks 6 - 10) > Term 3 (weeks 3 – 7)

Day: Thursday

Start time: 3.30 – 4.30 pm

Year level: Years 2 - 6 

Location: Prep School Oval

Football Development Program

Terms: 1 & 2

Weeks: Term 1 (weeks 6 - 10) > Term 2 (weeks 1 – 5)

Day: Friday

Start time: 7.30 – 8.30 am

Year level: Years 2 - 6 

Location: Prep School Oval

Note: Term 3 session for year 6 knockout players with Senior School (weeks 1-5) – Monday afternoon

Netball Development Program

Terms: 1 & 2

Weeks: Term 1 (weeks 6 - 10) > Term 2 (weeks 5 - 9)

Terms: 2 & 4

Date: Monday of Week 1 (student free days) – April 20 and October 12

Start time: 3.00 pm

Year level: Year 6 – via expression of interest

Location: Meet at Senior School Indoor Courts

Lead Coach: Flinders University – Exercise and Sports Science Department

 

Tests: 

Grip Strength: Global strength indicator

Countermovement Jump: Lower-body force/power production; via force plates

20m Sprint / Acceleration: Via VALD timing gates

Sit-and-Reach: Lower-body/trunk mobility

20 m Shuttle Run: Aerobic fitness
