Senior School High Performance Sport Pathway
Westminster’s High Performance Sport program offers a broad and inclusive range of advanced development opportunities. Unlike many programs, most opportunities are open to all students, not just those already competing at an elite level. We recognise that every child develops at their own pace— some discover their strengths and passions early, while others take more time to grow and evolve.
The program runs alongside normal co-curricular sport for those motivated to take their sport to the next level. It provides access to elite coaches and specialised experiences rarely available outside professional environments. Students need to be committed to training and giving their best effort. While some programs are reserved for students already competing at the highest level, the majority encourage broad participation.
Beyond sport, the program also offers leadership development for senior students across sport, clubs and performing arts—building confidence, character and capability that extend well beyond the School years. Students can also benefit from education sessions on nutrition, psychology and wellbeing, access to elite performers and guest speakers, and individual mentoring tailored to their journey.
Please note that all sessions are optional, except where participation is specifically highlighted as expected.
Students are encouraged to attend during the first one or two weeks to explore the program and decide if it is right for them. After this initial trial period, it is expected that students commit to attending each week through to the end of term.
