Teaching School Hub
At Westminster, we believe we have a responsibility to help, support and develop the teaching profession, which is why we host South Australia’s first Teaching School Hub. Our Hub is a partnership between Westminster and several leading universities, designed to provide high-quality initial teacher education while offering excellent additional in-class support for our students.
We recruit some of the most-promising pre-service teachers during their university studies, giving them a strong foundation and ensuring they are classroom-ready. The Teaching School Hub supports their growth through expert mentors and collaboration with Westminster’s most experienced teachers, helping pre-service teachers develop into the educators our students deserve.
The program also provides opportunities for aspiring and certified Highly Accomplished and Lead Teachers (HALTs) and our expert teachers to share their expertise and lead improvement across the education system. Our Teaching School Hub is a thriving community of practice that fosters excellence, innovation, and collaboration in education.

Early Career Teachers
At Westminster, we believe that early career teachers are not only the future of our profession, but also valuable contributors to our current school community. That's why we provide a range of opportunities for our ECTs to develop their skills, knowledge and confidence, while also sharing their insights and enthusiasm with their colleagues and students.
One of the ways we support our ECTs is our highly effective ECT program, including a termly ECT retreat, opt-in Professional Learning, access to an expert mentor, access to a highly trained Instructional coach, and exceptionally supportive colleagues.

Aspiring HALT
One of our goals at Westminster is to support our teachers in their professional growth and development. We encourage our teachers to pursue the national certification of Highly Accomplished and Lead Teachers (HALT), which recognises and rewards teachers who demonstrate exemplary practice and leadership in their field.
We offer a leading aspiring HALT program for teachers who want to achieve this certification. The program provides them with tailored professional learning, mentoring and coaching, as well as guidance from one of our many AITSL accredited Assessors. Our aspiring HALT teachers can benefit from this program and enhance their skills and knowledge.

HALT
Westminster School values lifelong learning and continuous growth for our teachers. That's why we offer a career path for nationally certified HALT's, who are expert educators with a passion for impactful education. Westminster School does not have a cap on the number of certified HALT’s employed by the school.
HALT's not only learn and grow themselves, but also lead and support their colleagues. As a HALT, you can stay in the classroom and make a difference for yourself, your colleagues, and your students. Westminster certified HALT’s have a portfolio focusing upon an area of passion, which they lead and develop across school. This allows our HALT’s to continue to develop their areas of passion, support their colleagues, model lifelong learning, and have a high impact upon the students they and their colleagues teach.
