Welcome to Edition 2 of Westminster Life

It has been another outstanding term of achievement, in the classrooms and beyond at Westminster.

From academic accomplishments to excellence across our co-curricular endeavours, our students have embraced every opportunity with commitment and enthusiasm.

As the first semester draws to a close, I extend my sincere thanks to our entire community for your dedication and support.

As we pause for a three-week break, I invite you to hear from our students as they share their highlights and reflections on a vibrant and fulfilling term.

Term 2 Highlights

Our long list of Term 2 adventures is impressive:
  • 35 talented Music students travelled to Mount Gambier to compete in the prestigious Generations in Jazz national stage band and vocal jazz competition
  • A heartfelt celebration of Mother’s Day with a lunch at the Highway Hotel and a special coffee and cookie morning
  • National Boarding Week acknowledged our vibrant boarding community of 179 students
  • Exciting news with the announcement of the Preparatory School redevelopment project
  • National Reconciliation Week marked with moments of learning, reflection and shared understanding
  • Dance Allsorts showcased the creativity and development of Year 7 – 12 Curriculum Dance students
  • Sing Sing Sing united students across the Prep and Senior Schools in a musical celebration
  • The Prep School Disco delivered a fun-filled evening for our youngest students
  • Giving Day brought the community together, raising an incredible $636,500 for the Preparatory School
  • Westminster proudly hosted the 23rd Australian Combined Schools Music Festival

Old Scholars

Marking 10, 20, 30 and 40 Years

The 2025 Event Season commenced with a wonderful series of reunions, celebrating 10, 20, 30 and 40 years since graduation. It was a pleasure to welcome so many Old Scholars back to School — reconnecting, reminiscing and sharing stories from their time at Westminster. Thank you for being part of it.

WOSFC Gather Round

Our campus came alive with Dragons pride as we welcomed the Westminster Old Scholars' Football Club back on campus to host our very own Dragons Gather Round!

With four matches played against Pembroke Old Scholars, our longstanding Intercol rival since ’06, Old Scholars joined for a spirited day of camaraderie, competition, and great sportsmanship.

From players to families, friends and members of our community, we thank everyone for supporting such a special day

Reflections 2024

Reflections 2024 is complete – a vibrant snapshot of the year at Westminster captured across more than 300 pages of stories and images, making it our most comprehensive edition yet.

All current families will receive access to the digital flipbook via email in Term 3. Printed copies are also available to order for $46 (incl. GST).

Families who left Westminster at the end of 2023 have been emailed with ordering details. If you haven’t received this information, please contact help@westminster.school

Our Class of 2024 graduates will each receive a complimentary printed copy.


Vale Geoffrey Bean AM, Life Member of Westminster School Council, who passed away on Saturday 17 May 2025, aged 91. Geoff was well known as Headmaster of Prince Alfred College through the 1970s and 1980s. Having completed his headmastership in 1987, Geoff served on the Westminster School Council from 1989 until 2008. In recognition of his 20 years of service, Geoff was awarded in 2010 with Westminster’s highest honour - Life Member of School Council. A wonderful, thoughtful gentleman of great integrity, Geoff made a significant contribution to Westminster School and education in South Australia, for which we are forever grateful.
