Swimming Meets
Competitive Swim Meets take place in Term 1 on Wednesday afternoons in a home and away format at schools with swimming facilities. The meets cater for students across U14, U15, U16 and Open age groups, with boys and girls competing together in the same events. Students may swim in up to six events and can move up an age group if required. The program includes both individual and relay races, offering a range of ways for students to contribute to the team.
While the meets are competitive, the emphasis is on representing Westminster as a team, supporting each other and celebrating individual progress. For many students the Wednesday meets offer a positive first step into a competitive environment where confidence can be built in a supportive setting. For our more experienced swimmers there are also opportunities to represent the School against strong competition in the School Sport SA Secondary Championships, SAAS and IGSSA Swimming Championships.
Given many of those who participate are already involved in club training there are no additional training sessions attached to this competition.
