Vocal Ensemble

Senior Vocal Ensemble is a non-auditioned group for all senior students in Years 7 - 12. This is a core ensemble and considered one of Westminster’s premier ensembles. All students who have vocal lessons or have an interest in singing are encouraged to join.

Senior Vocal Ensemble provides students with the opportunity to participate and experience singing within an SATB choral setting, exploring various styles of music appropriate for this particular ensemble. This ensemble aims to develop students’ musicianship and understanding of the part they play within a large music ensemble. Students can develop their practical skills within this setting, as well as develop skills of independence, self-direction and personal accountability and motivation.

Students are required to arrive every Friday morning at 7.20 am, ready for a 7.30 am start.  Students will need to bring their music and a pencil to every rehearsal. The ensemble rehearses until 8.35am. Students are expected to attend every rehearsal and if there is an unforeseen absence, they are required to contact the ensemble director prior to the rehearsal starting.

Performances throughout the year include Tennebrae, Music Night, Sing Sing Sing, to name a few.
