Rock Band, Westbound Sound
Vocalists or students who learn drums, guitar, bass guitar and piano may audition for the Preparatory Rock Band. This group will learn contemporary repertoire whilst learning performance skills relevant for a rock band. Entry is through invitation after an audition process has occurred. Students interested in auditioning should have at least one years’ experience on their instrument. If successful, students are expected to be having private instrumental lessons and are also required to commit to a larger ensemble (concert band, vox pops or string ensemble).
Rehearsals are held Tuesday lunchtime and are a full year commitment.
Students will have the opportunity to perform at Sing Sing Sing, Prep Showcase, Battle of the Bands, Year 6 Graduation as well as assemblies and other community events.
