Guitar Ensemble

Guitar Ensemble is open to all guitarists in Senior School.  It is encouraged that members be in a core ensemble as well as Guitar Ensemble; however, due to the instrument it may become a core ensemble for some.  This will be discussed and negotiated with individual members.

Directed by visiting tutors and professionals in their field, the Guitar Ensemble is designed for students interested in developing specific instrumental skills, confidence as a performer and experience playing in a small ensemble.  Ultimately every member will go on to join Rock Bands, Big Bands or Jazz Ensembles.

This ensemble is open to students with at least one year's experience on their instrument and rehearses every Friday lunchtime, from 12:50pm – 1:30pm. Rehearsals start in Term 1, Week 3 and then every Friday lunchtime during school terms until mid-Term 4. Students will be required to arrive at 12:45pm, ready for a 12:50pm start. They will need to bring their instrument, required equipment, music and a pencil to every rehearsal.

There are performances throughout the year including Autumn Bandstand, assemblies and lunchtime gigs.
