Girls' Soccer

Girls Soccer at Westminster continues to grow in popularity, with increasing numbers of students choosing to be involved. Our Senior team (Years 10 to 12) has enjoyed considerable success and provides a strong example for our Middle Years team (Years 7 to 9), modelling commitment, teamwork and a welcoming approach to all players. The program supports a broad range of experience, with students new to the game learning alongside those with more advanced skills in an inclusive and positive environment.

The coaching group places strong emphasis on developing fundamentals, building consistent training habits and representing the School with pride. Westminster competes in the IGSSA Soccer competition and all students are expected to uphold the standards outlined in the Co-curricular Code of Conduct. A defining strength of the program is the camaraderie between players, with students supporting one another, celebrating progress and contributing to a strong sense of belonging within the Westminster soccer community. For students seeking further challenge there is the opportunity to move from Middle Years into Senior teams when they are ready for increased competition.

Leading development coach Neil Young delivers a specialist Development Program in Terms 1 and 4 which continues to strengthen skill development, confidence and game understanding. The program also maintains a positive connection with the Preparatory School, with Senior students coaching or assisting Junior Girls Soccer teams, providing meaningful role modelling and continuity across year levels.

Girls Soccer at Westminster provides an environment where students develop as players and as people, build lasting friendships and contribute to a growing School tradition. Many continue their soccer journey beyond School through the Westminster Dragons Old Scholars Soccer Club, reflecting the strong community connection at the heart of the program.
