Preparatory School Concert Band

Students who learn woodwind, brass or percussion, and who have reached a desired standard on their instrument, may be invited at the discretion of Preparatory School Music to join the Concert Band. Students must be undertaking individual lessons on their instruments to be considered for this group. Entry to this group is via invitation and at the discretion of Preparatory School Music. 

Involvement in the Concert Band provides students with the opportunity to develop valuable ensemble, musicianship, teamwork, and performance skills whilst learning a wide variety of repertoire. It is very important that the children understand they need to be committed to the band, demonstrating good organisational skills and prompt, regular attendance at rehearsals.

Rehearsals will be held Tuesday morning from 7.30am - 8.40am. Students are expected to arrive at 7.25am to set up their instrument and bring required music. Students will need a clearly labelled folder and pencil for all rehearsals.

Students will have the opportunity to perform at Prep Showcase, ABODA Band Festival, as well as assemblies and other community events.
