Boys Football at Westminster is one of our most popular and well supported sports with strong participation across all year levels. The School takes great pride in the performance of our teams and the pathway that continues beyond School through the Westminster Dragons Old Scholars Football Club.

Westminster competes in the SAAS Football competition, with the performance of our First XVIII determining the division for all teams across the program. Following a strong season, we are pleased to be competing in Division 1 this year across all year levels from Year 7 through to First XVIII.

This is a significant step for our Football program and reflects the growth, commitment and quality that continues to build across the School. Competing in Division 1 provides our students with the opportunity to test themselves against the strongest opposition each week, supporting both individual development and team performance.

Our focus remains on sustaining this standard through consistent player development, high quality coaching and strong preparation. We are committed to establishing Westminster as a recognised and consistent Division 1 football program across all year levels.

In Years 7 to 10 the emphasis is on learning the game, building skills and enjoyment. Teams play within age groups with a commitment to strong participation and fair game time. As students’ progress into senior football the competitive environment increases while maintaining a strong focus on playing the game in the correct spirit.
