Westminster Weekly - Edition 70
Preparatory School
A Wonderful Start to Term 4
It has been wonderful to welcome our students back for Term 4. The Prep School has been buzzing with energy as students reconnect with friends, settle into classroom routines and embrace the learning opportunities ahead.
As we enter the final term of the school year, there is much to look forward to, with exciting learning experiences, special events and opportunities to celebrate the growth and achievements of our students. We encourage everyone to make the most of these final weeks, continuing to demonstrate kindness, curiosity and our Westminster values.
Our Year Level webpages have been updated with the latest Term 4 information, including curriculum overviews, important dates and year-level updates.
We encourage families to visit their child's Year Level webpage to stay informed about what's happening this term.
Please also keep an eye on Westminster Weekly each Friday for updates and additions to the Term 4 calendar.
Kind regards,
Simon McKenzie
Head of Preparatory School
OSHC Relocation
As the Preparatory School redevelopment enters its final stages, we are delighted to share that OSHC will relocate to its new home in JP Dining Hall, near the Health Centre, from the afternoon of Monday 19 October.
From this weekend, additional temporary construction fencing will be installed around the existing OSHC building, along the grassed area beside the Prep Oval and adjacent to the Prep Gym towards Ceremonial Drive.
Some pedestrian routes and grassed areas may be temporarily unavailable as we work to ensure safe access for students and families.
If you have any questions or concerns about the OSCH relocation, please contact oshc@westminster.sa.edu.au.
Camp Quality Puppets are Coming to Westminster
The Camp Quality Puppets are coming to Westminster to help our youngest students develop a greater understanding of cancer through storytelling, humour and age-appropriate education.
For more than 30 years, the Camp Quality Puppets have been visiting schools and Early Learning Centres across Australia, helping children understand cancer, build empathy and learn how to support others affected by the disease.
Through engaging performances, the puppets help break down misconceptions about cancer and encourage kindness, inclusion and understanding.
The program features three age-appropriate shows, exploring topics such as returning to school following cancer treatment, changes in appearance and the impact of cancer on families and friendships.
By creating a safe and supportive environment for conversations, the Camp Quality Puppets help children develop compassion and confidence when navigating challenging situations.
We look forward to welcoming the puppets to Westminster.
