A Building Update From Our Acting Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we move through another exciting term, I wanted to share an update on the significant building projects taking shape across our campus. Together, these developments represent our continued investment in creating exceptional learning environments and experiences for current and future Westminster students.
Preparatory School Redevelopment
Our new Preparatory Centre for Learning is now beginning to take shape, with the buildings design features really starting to show. It is exciting to see years of planning coming to life and we remain on track to welcome Reception to Year 3 students into the purpose-built facility at the beginning of Term 1 2027.
The new centre will provide contemporary learning spaces that support our approach to adventurous education for many years to come.
Reach Higher Campaign Success
Last term’s Reach Higher Campaign was an outstanding success, with our fundraising goal achieved thanks to the incredible generosity of our School community.
Westminster's new climbing wall, located within the Sports and Swim Centre, is expected to be completed later this year. The exciting new facility will further enhance the outdoor education opportunities available to our students.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this important campaign.
Thomas Pavilion Expansion
Planning and design work is also progressing well for the expansion of Thomas Pavilion. The timing has been impacted by the Prep School project, but the expansion is expected to commence in late 2027. As part of this project, Westminster's new change rooms will also be completed, providing modern facilities to support the growing participation in sport and physical activity across the School.
A New Chapter for Highmoor
As Westminster continues to evolve, we also prepare to farewell Highmoor which has been the traditional principal residence. Highmoor, has been home to each of Westminster's six Principals, will soon make way for the next chapter in our campus story.
The site will become home to a new Prep School playground, scheduled for construction early next year, creating an exciting space where children can play, explore and learn through adventure.
Honouring this important legacy, Westminster's incoming Principal will reside in a newly developed residence on Alison Avenue, continuing the Highmoor tradition in a new location across from the School.
These projects reflect Westminster's ongoing commitment to investing in outstanding facilities while respecting the history and traditions that have shaped our School.
We look forward to sharing further updates as construction progresses and to celebrating these exciting milestones with our community.
Warm regards,
