Westminster Weekly - Edition 45
Preparatory School
Prep School Athletics Week
We are really looking forward to the return of our much-loved Athletics Week in Week 9. A detailed event schedule will be published on the School website prior to Sports Day to help families plan their attendance. On both days, our wonderful Parents and Friends Club will be running a sausage sizzle, with cold drinks and ice blocks available to buy. A coffee cart will also be available for parents and supporters in the morning from 8. 45 am. We encourage families to come along, support the students and enjoy the fantastic community atmosphere that makes our Athletics Week so special.
Below is a brief outline of the program:
Tuesday 24 March: Junior Primary Sports Day
9:00 am – 12:30 pm (approx.)
Junior Primary students will take part in their Sports Day events during the morning on the Courtney Oval (closest to the Farm)
Following their events, students may either, leave with their parents or carers once signed out with their teacher, or return to their classroom for the remainder of the day
12:00 pm
Students in Years 3–6 will compete in the 800 metres on the Main Oval.
Afternoon
After lunch, students in Years 3–6 will participate in their field events for the remainder of the afternoon.
Wednesday 25 March: Years 3 – 6 Sports Day
Students in Years 3 – 6 will take part in their full track and field program across the day.
Kind Reminder: School Drop Off and Pick Up
As our campus is often lively with co-curricular activities before the start of the School day, we kindly remind parents and carers that for students not participating in these activities, the preferred drop-off time is 8:20 am.
If a student needs to arrive on campus earlier than this time, it is important they are appropriately supervised for their safety.
Senior School students who arrive before 8:20 am should make their way to the Martin Library where they may study, read or relax until the School day begins.
Preparatory School students arriving before 8:20 am must be booked into the OSHC (Out of School Hours Care) program so they can be supervised until the start of the School day. Younger students should not be supervised by older Senior School siblings while waiting on campus.
The same expectations apply after School. Preparatory School students remaining on campus after the School day must be collected by a parent or carer or be booked into OSHC. Older siblings are not permitted to supervise younger students after School.
Thank you for your support in helping ensure all students are safe and well supervised while on campus.
Scholastic Book Club
Scholastic Book Club Issue 2 should have arrived home this week. For this issue, our school will receive double rewards points for all orders placed!
The cutoff date for school collection orders is COB Friday 13 March. Orders placed after this date will incur a homedelivery fee and be sent directly to your address. Please allow approximately two weeks from the close of orders for items to be delivered.
Scholastic offers a ‘GIFT’ discreet pickup option, meaning items will not be sent home with your child. Instead, you will be able to collect your order from the Library at your convenience. Library staff will contact you when your GIFT items are ready for collection. All other orders will be delivered to students.
Please note this service is for the Preparatory School. If you are purchasing items for a Senior School student, please select the Prep School class of your youngest child when ordering.
Parents can place orders online using the LOOP system, which allows payment by credit card. Cash orders cannot be accepted.
