School Bus Update

Now that we are in Week 3, here are a few reminders to help our bus service run smoothly for families:

• If your family is new to the service, please email schoolbus@westminster.sa.edu.au before your start date with your preferred route and stop, the days required (am and/or pm), and your intended start date.
  Please do not discuss proposed stop changes directly with Willunga Charter, as we must approve any stops not currently in use. If the stop is an existing Adelaide Metro stop already on one of our routes, it is usually straightforward to add. Changes to a run require further consideration due to safety and timing. We also notify drivers in advance when new students will be joining or alighting.
• Students in Years 7–12 have been issued with Student ID cards, which must be used to swipe on and off the bus. Prep students require a bus swipe card, available from the Prep Office.
  All students must use a swipe card each time they travel. This allows accurate tracking for families and for us. While drivers can manually record travel on the onboard iPad, errors can occur, which may result in families being charged for trips their child did not take.
• Please ensure your child knows their correct stop number. Recently, a small number of students have been unsure where to disembark, resulting in missed stops.
• To manage your child’s bus travel, you must use the Willunga Charter app. This is the only app that recognises the parent email address recorded with us. If you have not yet set up your account, enter your email address and select ‘forgot password’ to create one.
• The Willunga Charter app tracks your child’s usage. Term passes allow unlimited travel between the start and end dates of term. Casual trips are charged to your child’s bus account. If your balance is low, you will receive a reminder to top up.
