Westminster’s Biggest Royal Adelaide Show Campaign Yet

The 2026 Royal Adelaide Show marked Westminster Agriculture’s biggest Show campaign yet, with nearly 80 students representing the School across eight days of competition. 

Across Led Steers, Dairy Cattle, Merino Wethers, Border Leicester Stud Sheep, Led Goats, school wool and junior judging, students achieved strong results while gaining valuable experience across a broad range of competitions.

Show Team Captain Bailey Brooks led our largest contingent yet, supported by student captains Jack Pridham (Led Steers), Imogen Croser (Dairy), Charlie Vandeleur (Merino Wethers), Evie Cornish (Border Leicesters) and Evie Carmichael and Lila Nichols (Led Goats). 

Among the highlights, our Led Steer Team was named SAYBB Best Presented Steer Team and placed 2nd for ATASA Most Professional School, while Lily Vowles placed 1st in her Experienced Handler class. 

Our Dairy Team placed 3rd for ATASA Most Professional School, with Edge Tinamba Sonya named Champion School Holstein Female. In her first year with Show Team, London Drew placed 3rd in Junior Dairy Judging, while Georgina Hahn achieved 2nd in Junior Grain Judging. 

The Merino Wether Team placed 2nd for ATASA Most Professional School and 2nd for Best Presented Merino Wether Team, while our growing Led Goat Team placed 3rd for ATASA Most Professional School. 

Our Border Leicester Stud Sheep Team also continued to make its mark, competing directly against established studs and breeders rather than in a school-only competition. Despite Westminster being relatively new to this space, students secured an outstanding collection of placings including first, second and third places across the open classes. 

These results are worth celebrating, but they tell only part of the story. 

Across eight demanding days, our students arrived early, stayed late, cared for their animals, listened to experts and supported one another. They showed courage when an animal did not behave as expected, resilience when results did not go their way and the confidence to step back into the ring and have another go. 

We are enormously grateful to Thomas Foods International, whose ongoing sponsorship continues to underpin the development of Westminster Agriculture and provide opportunities for our students well beyond the classroom. 

Our sincere thanks also go to the many industry partners who generously share their animals, expertise and time with our students, including Shane and Allie Vowles, Gus and Mark Llewellyn, Heath Nickolls of Bull Oak Well Angus, Ken and Josh Modra and family, Mark and Tara Vandeleur, Andrew Mitchell, Martin and Kirsty Harvey of Paxton Stud, Rebecca Kuss, Michael Leopardi and Casey Treloar. 

It was also wonderful to welcome back Becky Warren, our 2025 Show Team Captain and now an Old Scholar, who returned to volunteer with this year’s teams. 

Finally, an undertaking of this scale would not be possible without the commitment of Agriculture teachers Isabel Linde and Lisa Miller and Farm Managers Brendan Kloeden (BK) and Paul Nield, who dedicated countless hours to preparing students, caring for animals and managing the logistics behind the campaign. 

Nearly 80 students took part in our biggest Royal Adelaide Show campaign yet, while the work of our Agriculture program continued back at School. It was a significant undertaking for our students, staff, families and supporters. 

More than any individual result, it is what we achieved together and the way our students represented Westminster and Agriculture that makes us most proud.
