Vivace Strings
Students who learn violin, viola, cello or double bass are invited to join the Vivace String Ensemble. We encourage all the children who play these instruments to be a part of this ensemble. Students in this group must be having individual lessons on their instruments and should have at least two years’ experience. This ensemble is predominantly for Years 5 and 6, and in some cases by invitation.
Involvement in the Vivace String Ensemble provides students with the opportunity to develop valuable ensemble, musicianship, teamwork, and performance skills whilst learning a wide variety of repertoire. Students also further develop their technique by spending time playing music with their friends. This extends their skills, and supports their learnings in private lessons.
This ensemble rehearses every Friday morning from 7.45am - 8.30am. Students are required to bring their instrument and a clearly labelled folder and pencil. They are expected to arrive at 7.40am to set up their instrument and have their music ready. Rehearsals will commence Week 3, Term 1 and continue through to late term 4.
There are many performances throughout the year including Prep Showcase, ABODA, Year 3 Strings night, as well as assemblies and other community events.
