Environmental Action Group

Led by Senior School Teacher, Rachel Abercrombie

The Environmental Action Group (EAG) offers students the chance to lead positive change within the School and the wider community. At weekly lunchtime meetings, members research, plan and coordinate environmental activities, events and projects that promote long term sustainability.

Students are encouraged to collaborate with others across the School to design initiatives that make a real and lasting impact. Past and ongoing projects have included green challenges, habitat and community trail restoration, fundraising to support environmental causes, education around low impact foods, and awareness campaigns on issues such as climate change and animal and human rights. The group also plays a key role in encouraging the School community to set and work towards meaningful targets for reducing waste, paper use, water consumption and energy use.

EAG members share information through assemblies, School events and community activities, helping to build a culture of care and responsibility for the environment.

The Environmental Action Group meets on Tuesdays during lunchtime.
