Andante Strings

Students who learn violin, viola, cello or double bass are invited to join the Andante String Ensemble. We encourage all children who play these instruments to be a part of this ensemble. This ensemble is open to students in Year 4, and younger students by invitation. Students in this group must be undertaking private instrumental lessons.

Involvement in the String Ensemble provides students with the opportunity to develop valuable ensemble, musicianship, teamwork, and performance skills whilst learning a wide variety of repertoire. Students are also further developing their technique and spending time playing music with their friends.

Students rehearse every Tuesday morning from 8.00 - 8.30am, with rehearsals commencing Term 1, week 3. Rehearsals will continue until mid-term 4. Students are expected to arrive at 7.55am to set up their instrument and be ready to play by 8.00am. It is very important that the children understand they need to be committed to the ensemble, demonstrating good organisational skills and prompt, regular attendance at rehearsals. Please also note that children will need a clearly labelled folder and pencil for rehearsals.
