Phones Away During Co-curricular
A reminder to students and families that mobile phones are not permitted during Co-curricular activities.
Whether it’s training, rehearsal or competition, students are expected to stay focused, engaged and present with their team, coach or teacher.
This supports a positive, distraction-free environment where students can fully contribute and connect.
Coaches and managers will reinforce this expectation, and it will also be shared at upcoming assemblies.
We encourage families to lead by example—keeping phones away while supporting from the sidelines helps model the importance of being present.
Strong Start for Open Boys Basketball
Westminster’s Open Boys Basketball team has opened the 2025 season with a strong 3–1 record, claiming three consecutive wins before a hard-fought loss to Pembroke this week.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Al Green, who brings decades of experience to the program, the team is led on court by Captain Laikin Whittaker, alongside Charlie Pedler and Harry Davidson – former State squad representatives and current U/18 South Adelaide players. Together, they are helping to shape a team culture grounded in discipline and teamwork.
Basketball Co-ordinator Jakob Dorricott, also a Development Coach with the Adelaide 36ers, continues to support the program’s growth with a focus on skill development and competitive performance.
With strong leadership and a committed playing group, Westminster’s basketball program is well placed for a successful season.
