National Spotlight on Westminster Netball
“Our program is built on excellence, opportunity and athlete development. We aim to nurture both performance and personal growth through elite coaching, mentoring and leadership opportunities.”
Westminster has firmly cemented its status as a netball powerhouse, with six students helping lead South Australia to back-to-back national titles at the 2025 National Netball Championships last week.
The undefeated South Australian U17 team featured 6 Westminster students, including Jazz McKay (Captain), Elouise Nordhausen (Vice-Captain), Anna Goad, Darcy May-Martin, Maiya Kotowski and Chloe Peacock.
Jazz McKay, daughter of former netball champion Sarah Sutter, was acknowledged for her leadership and on-court dominance, named both Player of the Tournament and Best on Ground in the grand final. Jazz, alongside Elouise, Anna and Darcy, were selected for the Australian U17 Squad.
Westminster’s strong presence on the national stage reflects the School’s deep commitment to netball development. In 2025, more than 220 Senior School students—representing 50 percent of Westminster’s female student body—are registered to play netball. This high level of participation is underpinned by a comprehensive high-performance program offering elite coaching, structured pathways and state-of-the-art facilities.
Westminster’s Premier League program continues to thrive under the leadership of Marg Angove, one of Australian netball’s most respected figures. A cornerstone of Westminster’s netball journey for more than 20 years, Marg currently co-coaches the Premier League Squad alongside Cathy Fellows—championship-winning Adelaide Thunderbirds coach and current U21 National Head Coach.
“The success of Westminster players at State and National levels is a reflection of the high-quality coaching, strong support networks, and development pathways the School offers its student-athletes,” said Marg.
The School’s high-performance program is led by Stephen Schwerdt, former High Performance Manager with the Adelaide Crows and Gold Coast Suns, who joined Westminster in 2024 as Head of Activities.
Westminster’s netball strength is further bolstered by an outstanding team of ambassadors and Old Scholars including:
