Vox Pops
Vox Pops is a non-auditioned vocal ensemble open to all Years 5 and 6 students. Students will develop their vocal technique and explore a range of contemporary styles. This ensemble focuses on performance practice and aims to sing with confidence at a high musical standard. Performance opportunities include School assemblies, School functions and Concerts and community performances.
This ensemble rehearses every Thursday before school, from 7.45am – 8.30am. Rehearsals start in Term 1, Week 3 and then every Thursday during school terms until late term 4.
Students will be required to arrive, ready to sing, at 7.40am. Students are required to bring their music and a pencil to every rehearsal, and a water bottle if they would like.
Involvement in the Choir provides an opportunity for children to develop and extend their love of singing in a relaxed environment, and to develop performance and teamwork skills whilst learning a wide variety of repertoire. It is important that all children understand they need to be committed to the choir, demonstrating good organisational skills and regular, prompt attendance at rehearsals.
There are several performances throughout the year including most major music events, such as Sing Sing Sing, Prep Showcase, Grandparents Day and Westminster’s Carols on the Green.
