Vox Pops, Years 5 & 6
Vox Pops is a Preparatory Vocal Ensemble open to interested students in Years 5 and 6. This group is designed for students interested in developing their vocal skills, confidence as a performer and small ensemble experiences. All students with the desire to develop confidence and performance skills are encouraged to join, along with those having individual vocal lessons.
This ensemble rehearses every Thursday before school, from 7.45am – 8.30am. Rehearsals start in Term 1, Week 3 and then every Thursday during school terms until late term 4.
Students will be required to arrive, ready to sing, at 7.40am. Students are required to bring their music and a pencil to every rehearsal, and a water bottle if they would like.
Involvement in the Choir provides an opportunity for children to develop and extend their love of singing in a relaxed environment, and to develop performance and teamwork skills whilst learning a wide variety of repertoire. It is important that all children understand they need to be committed to the choir, demonstrating good organisational skills and regular, prompt attendance at rehearsals.
There are several performances throughout the year including most major music events, such as Sing Sing Sing, Preparatory Showcase, and Westminster’s Carols on the Green.
