Historic First XI Triumph Over IGSSA Powerhouse
In just their second ever First XI appearance, Westminster Girls Cricket has recorded a landmark victory, defeating long standing IGSSA powerhouse Scotch College in a performance defined by belief and composure.
Last weekend’s result marks an important milestone for the program. The team demonstrated resilience and unity across every phase of the game, rising to the occasion with confidence beyond their experience.
Co-captain Aijay anchored the innings with a superb knock, providing stability and momentum at the crease. Returning to bowl the final over, Aijay held steady under pressure to seal the win in a thrilling finish that reflected the team’s collective determination.
It was a true team performance, with meaningful contributions in batting, bowling and fielding. Each student played their role with focus and courage, showcasing both skill and maturity in a high pressure contest.
We are proud of this milestone moment for Westminster Girls Cricket. It reflects the commitment, growth and positive culture being built within the program and signals an exciting future ahead for our Dragons.
