Term 1, 2026

As we begin Term 1, we are pleased to share that extensive work has been completed over the holiday period and the Preparatory School redevelopment has now entered a transition phase between demolition and construction. We remain on track for the new build to be completed for the start of 2027.

While some level of disruption is a natural part of progress, our builder, Partek, is working closely with the School to carefully manage activity on site. Thoughtful planning is in place to minimise impact, including the management of traffic, dust and daily operations.

On your return to School, you will notice that Colourbond fencing now fully encloses the building site, clearly separating construction areas from student spaces, with viewing panels allowing children to safely see progress. School leadership will be present on campus each morning and afternoon to support smooth and consistent arrivals and departures.

Although some routines have changed, these arrangements allow learning, play and co-curricular opportunities to continue safely with minimal disruption. We thank families for their ongoing understanding and support.

Kiss and Drop Arrangements

To support safety and reduce traffic flow:

Kiss and Drop arrangements will continue as they operated last year. To reduce congestion in the Reception and Year 1 Kiss and Drop area, families with children in Years 2–6 are asked to use the Mathwin Centre Kiss & Drop (entry via Gate 1, Prep Oval). We will continue to monitor traffic flow and make adjustments as needed and we appreciate family feedback during this time

When using Kiss and Drop, families are reminded to remain in their vehicle at all times.

Lollipop signage will support families using the zebra crossing in front of the ELC

Families are reminded to adhere to the School speed limit of 10 km per hour

Older students are encouraged to show their independence by being dropped off outside the campaus and utilising the crossing on Alison Avenue.

Student Movement Around Campus

Students will continue to move freely around campus for any co-curricular activity throughout the day, with some adjusted routes near construction activity.

Junior Primary students will walk past the Health Centre when crossing when accessing Senior School facilities, while upper Primary students will move via the Preparatory School Office.

A new zebra crossing from the Oval provides safe access to the Michael Murray Centre for Performing Arts.

Construction and Demolition

As the term progresses, there will be more visible activity within the construction compound. Contractors will be easily identifiable, closely managed and will not interact with students. All work will remain within site boundaries, with noise and dust monitored daily to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.

The School will continue to manage traffic, ensuring heavy vehicles do not enter campus during peak times between 8.00–9.00am and 3.00–4.00pm.

Safety and Supervision

We understand that building works can raise questions and we want to reassure families that student safety remains our highest priority. Staff will continue to supervise students closely as they move across campus, providing additional support where needed.

While these changes are temporary, they have been carefully planned to minimise disruption. Preparatory School staff remain focused on ensuring students feel safe, supported and happy at School throughout the redevelopment.

What children will notice in Term 4

When children return, they will see some changes. The building site will be securely enclosed by a large fence, keeping them safe while play spaces remain open and supervised. Key areas, including the tuckshop, will continue as usual.

Construction and demolition

As we move through the term, there will be more visible activity within the compound. Contractors will be easy to identify, closely managed and will not interact with students. Their work will stay within the site boundaries, and noise and dust will be monitored daily to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.

Demolition will take place during the summer holidays and will be scheduled around OSHC and ELC hours so it does not affect School programs. The School has also worked closely with the contractor to manage traffic, ensuring heavy vehicles will not enter campus during peak times of 8.00 to 9.00 am and 3.00 to 4.00 pm.

Safety and supervision

We know that building works can sometimes raise questions, and we want to reassure you that student safety remains our top priority. Staff will continue to supervise children closely as they move across campus, offering extra support where needed to help everyone feel safe and confident.

Although these changes are temporary, they have been carefully planned to minimise disruption. Our Preparatory School staff will continue to focus on ensuring students feel secure and happy at School while the redevelopment progresses.
