Subject Selections for 2026

In preparation for the 2026 subject selection process, please find key dates and resources to support your child in making informed and confident decisions.

Student Presentations

Students will be presented with their subject choices for next year during the school day on the following dates:

  • Current Year 6 → 2026 Year 7: Tuesday 27 May, Lesson 3
  • Current Year 7 → 2026 Year 8: Monday 26 May, Lesson 8
  • Current Year 8 → 2026 Year 9: Thursday 29 May and Friday 30 May, Lesson 3
  • Current Year 9 → 2026 Year 10: Friday 6 June, Lesson 3
  • Current Year 10 → 2026 Year 11: Thursday 5 June, Lesson 3
  • Current Year 11 → 2026 Year 12: Tuesday 10 June, Lesson 3

Please avoid scheduling private music lessons during these sessions where possible.

Parent and Carer Presentations via Teams

Links will be emailed to all parents shortly. These evening sessions offer an opportunity to hear from our Director of Learning and ask questions:

  • Current Year 6 → 2026 Year 7: Tuesday 27 May, 7.00 pm
  • Current Year 7 & 8 → 2026 Year 8 & 9: Monday 26 May, 7.00 pm
  • Current Year 9 → 2026 Year 10: Monday 2 June, 7.00 pm
  • Current Year 10 → 2026 Year 11: Tuesday 10 June, 7.00 pm
  • Current Year 11 → 2026 Year 12: Thursday 12 June, 7.00 pm

Subject Interviews and Approvals

These interviews with Careers Pathways Advisors and Heads of House ensure selections support each student’s future aspirations.

  • Weeks 1–2: 2025 Year 9–11 students to complete subject approval forms and submit selections
  • Week 3 (Monday 4 August): Interviews for 2026 Year 12 students
  • Week 4 (Monday 11 August): Interviews for 2026 Year 11 students

General Careers Guidance

Further opportunities for careers advice are available at Westminster School’s annual 2025 Careers Expo which will take place on Tuesday 22 July 2025, 4.00 to 7.30 pm.

Further Support

Curriculum Leaders, teachers and Heads of House are always available to guide students through the subject selection process. Families are welcome to meet with Director of Learning, Andrea Sherwood, in person to discuss any questions they may have.
