The Principal’s Emerging Talent Scholarship is available for eligible Westminster students in Years 9, 10, 11 and 12.

About the Scholarship

The Principal’s Emerging Talent Scholarship recognises students who make the most of opportunities at Westminster to develop their talents, contribute positively to our community, and model determination and a strong work ethic across academics, co-curricular activities and service.

Successful applicants receive a remission that:

  • Is drawn from a capped fund equivalent to one full-time averaged Years 9 to 12 tuition fee, shared equally among recipients in that round
  • Is set as a percentage at the time of offer and then applied each year through to the completion of Year 12
  • Is backdated to the start of the 2025 School year

As with all Westminster bursaries, recipients are expected to sustain their performance and engagement through to graduation.

How to apply

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be current Westminster students who commenced in Year 7 or earlier and have continued uninterrupted to their year of application
  • Not be receiving any other tuition fee remission, excluding sibling discount, unless choosing to forego that remission in favour of this Scholarship
  • Demonstrate commitment to self-improvement, tenacity and a positive work ethic, with strong academic results, co-curricular commitment and community involvement
  • Be role models who contribute meaningfully to Westminster and the wider community, and who are developing as leaders
  • Show they have used School opportunities for growth and are seeking or have identified external pathways to extend their emerging talent

Selection

A panel comprising the Principal, Deputy Principal/Head of Senior School and relevant staff will:

  • Review recent School reports and supporting information on co-curricular, community involvement and identified external pathways
  • Consider at least two references: a Westminster staff referee and an external referee
  • Interview shortlisted candidates

Successful students will meet with the Principal in Term 4 each year through to graduation to reflect on progress supported by the Scholarship.
