Monday 24 to Friday 28 November 2025 (Week 7)
During Week 7, SACE Stage 1 exams will be held for Year 11 students and for Year 10 students undertaking Stage 1 subjects.
Key Information
Attendance and timing
- Year 11 students attend School only for their scheduled exams in Week 7.
- Morning exams start at 9.00 am. Arrive at the exam room by 8.45 am.
- Afternoon exams start at 1.30 pm. Arrive by 1.15 pm.
- Exams generally finish by 3.30 pm, though a few may conclude later.
- Students are not permitted to leave early and should arrange transport if usual bus or train times do not align.
- Tutor Group will not run during the exam period.
Preparation and study
Families can help their child prepare by ensuring they are organised and ready for each day. Many exams are completed on laptops, so students should ensure their device is fully charged, has the correct browser installed, and that they bring their charger to School.
Evidence-based strategies that support strong performance include:
- Practising under timed conditions
- Maintaining consistent sleep and wellbeing routines
- Using structured revision and study techniques
- Managing exam-related stress
If a student is unwell during the exam period, a medical certificate will be required to arrange a re-sit. Other re-sits may be approved at the School’s discretion.
For queries about course structures or exam arrangements, please contact the Director of Learning or the relevant Curriculum Leader.
Students should also read the Advice and Instructions to Students for full details of expectations during exams.
Special Provisions
Students with approved Special Provisions will continue to receive their adjustments during exams. These may include additional time, a reader, or modified papers, depending on individual needs. Students wishing to apply for Special Provisions should complete the Special Provisions Form and outline their reasons. Approval is not guaranteed, as provisions are usually granted to students who have previously received curriculum adjustments.
Attendance and study spaces
Students without an exam on a given day are not required to attend School unless requested by their teacher to complete coursework. Many students choose to study on campus during this period. The Library is available as a quiet study space and students must wear full School uniform. The Library is not suitable for group work, and students who are not studying quietly will be asked to leave.
Co-curricular commitments
During exam week, students are expected to continue with all co-curricular commitments, including Music rehearsals and sporting activities. If a rehearsal coincides with an exam, students should discuss alternative arrangements with their conductor or coach.
Subject and elective changes
Subject Change Request forms for 2026 electives are available from the Senior School Office. Submitting a form does not guarantee a change, and students will be notified by email about the outcome of their request. The final day for Year 11 students will be the date of their last exam, officially Friday 28 November 2025.
