Experience More: The Sydney Soccer Experience 2026
At Westminster, we believe in providing a holistic, future-focused education that empowers our students to achieve more than they ever thought possible. As part of our commitment to an Adventurous Education, we are thrilled to present the itinerary for the 2026 Sydney Soccer Experience—a tour specifically designed for our Year 8 and 9 Co-curricular soccer players to blend elite athletic development with cultural discovery and leadership building.
Set against the vibrant backdrop of Sydney, this tour offers our players a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of professional sport while fostering the values of our grounded and supportive school community.
Itinerary
Thursday: Departure and Harbour Immersion
Our journey begins in the afternoon as the squad departs from Adelaide, bound for the bright lights of Sydney. Upon arrival in the early evening, students will transfer to our central base near the iconic Darling Harbour. This vibrant, world-class precinct serves as the perfect hub for our tour, offering easy access to transport and sights. The day concludes with a group dinner along the waterfront, allowing the team to soak in the atmosphere of the harbour.
Friday: Competitive Play and Elite Insights
The morning focuses on the pitch, with a friendly match against a local Sydney school, providing our players with a high-level competitive experience. Following a post-match debrief and recovery, the afternoon is dedicated to exploring Sydney’s most famous landmarks, including the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. The evening provides a truly aspirational moment: attending a Tottenham Hotspur Open Training session at Allianz Stadium to witness Premier League tactical drills and elite routines up close.
Saturday: Coastal Exploration and The London Derby
We start the morning with a choice of coastal adventure—either a scenic harbour cruise to Manly Beach or a relaxed coastal walk at Coogee—to ensure a balanced and active experience. After some downtime in the afternoon to prepare and talk strategy, the evening features the tour's pinnacle: the Chelsea F.C. vs. Tottenham Hotspur match at Accor Stadium. Experiencing the intensity of a Premier League London Derby live is designed to inspire our players and provide deep tactical observation.
Sunday: Leadership, Reflection, and Return
To culminate our trip, the morning features a Sydney Bridge Climb. This activity is a powerful team-building exercise, challenging students to find confidence as they ascend the Harbour Bridge for panoramic views of the city. Following a final group reflection, the team will check out in the afternoon for their return flight, arriving back in Adelaide in the evening, enriched by the experience of a lifetime.
Achieve More on the World Stage
This tour represents the very best of a Westminster education—combining elite sporting opportunities with the development of independence, leadership, and a global perspective. It is an invitation for our young athletes to step outside their comfort zones, build lasting bonds with their teammates, and see firsthand what is required to perform at the highest level of international sport.
Are you ready to be part of this adventurous journey? We ask all interested Year 8 and 9 Co-curricular soccer players and their families to look out for an upcoming email containing further details on how to register your interest for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
