Welcoming Years 7 to 12 in 2027
We look forward to welcoming our new students to Westminster for Orientation Day 2027 on Friday 20 November 2026. An important part of their Onboarding Experience, the day provides an opportunity to become familiar with the School, meet students and staff and feel ready for the year ahead.
Orientation Day programs are tailored to different year levels. Parents and carers are welcome to join us for coffee on arrival and hear from Acting Principal Andrew Whiteman and other key staff before students begin their Orientation Day activities at 9.30 am.
All day students are asked to bring their own recess, with lunch provided by the School.
Please select your child’s 2027 year level and RSVP by Friday 6 November 2026. Key information and detailed programs for each year level can also be found below.

Preparation
- During the day, students will be introduced to Westminster’s extensive co-curricular program, including opportunities in sport, performing arts and a wide range of clubs and activities.
- Nominations for 2027 co-curricular activities will open in early November 2026 and remain available for families of new students until Monday 23 November 2026. We encourage families to discuss participation together, as co-curricular involvement often requires a commitment from both students and their families.
- Students are asked to bring their own recess, with lunch provided at 12.40 pm. Please advise us of any dietary requirements or relevant medical information when registering via the RSVP button above relevant to the students' year level.
Drop-off/pick-up
- For families who are new to Westminster, a detailed campus map is available here and may be helpful when planning your visit on the day.
- Family parking will be available before and after the event near the ovals and Sports and Swimming Centre (via Gate 4 on Alison Avenue). Alternatively, families may choose to use the surrounding street parking adjacent to the School.
- 2027 Year 7 students will arrive at 8.30 am and meet on the steps of the Michael Murray Centre for Performing Arts.
- 2027 Years 8-12 students will arrive at 8.45 am and meet on the Westminster Green.
- Orientation Day will conclude at 3.30 pm, with all students dismissed from the steps of the Michael Murray Centre for Performing Arts.
Student requirements on the day
- Wear neat casual clothes suitable for all planned sessions, including PE lessons and activities. No jewellery is to be worn, and hair needs to be in a neat and tidy fashion – School uniform is not required on this day but please remember to bring a hat.
- Wear closed-in shoes (i.e. no thongs, Crocs or Birkenstock-style shoes) as some lessons may be in laboratories.
- Bring a backpack/bag for personal belongings, including a pencil case and notebook required to complete some written work.
- You do not need to bring a laptop, mobile phone or iPad to complete any tasks during the day. If any student requires their mobile phone, it must stay in their bag, and it will always remain their responsibility when at School.
- Bring a water bottle (there are plenty of filling stations) and pack snacks if needed during breaks.
- New students will meet their student buddy during the day.
