Term 4, 2025
We are pleased to share that the next stage of our Preparatory School redevelopment will continue in Term 4. This important phase will be carefully managed to ensure learning, play and family routines remain supported throughout.
Key points for Term 4
To help you prepare, here are the key arrangements for Term 4:
- During the holidays, the Transition classrooms will be relocated to the building at the back of the Junior Primary playground, ready for the start of Term 4.
- A temporary building compound will be established alongside the current Reception to Year 2 Kiss & Drop area (Term 4 only).
- For everyone's safety, the building site will be fully enclosed with a secure fence.
- Play spaces will remain open and safe.
- Contractors will be easy to identify, carefully managed and will remain separate from students at all times.
- Noise and dust levels will be monitored daily.
- Any demolition will be held over until the summer holidays, outside ELC and OSHC hours.
Kiss & Drop Changes:
- To help everything run smoothly and to reduce congestion in the Reception and Year 1 Kiss and Drop area, families with children in Year 2 are asked to use the Mathwin Centre Kiss & Drop (entry via Gate 1, Prep Oval), as this is where their classrooms are now based.
- With the new construction fence line in place, there is a chance that it may cause some congestion for Transition, Reception and Year 1 families. Please be reassured that this arrangement is only for Term 4 while the compound is in place.
Additional Information
What children will notice in Term 4
When children return, they will see some changes. The building site will be securely enclosed by a large fence, keeping them safe while play spaces remain open and supervised. Key areas, including the tuckshop, will continue as usual.
Construction and demolition
As we move through the term, there will be more visible activity within the compound. Contractors will be easy to identify, closely managed and will not interact with students. Their work will stay within the site boundaries, and noise and dust will be monitored daily to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
Demolition will take place during the summer holidays and will be scheduled around OSHC and ELC hours so it does not affect School programs. The School has also worked closely with the contractor to manage traffic, ensuring heavy vehicles will not enter campus during peak times of 8.00 to 9.00 am and 3.00 to 4.00 pm.
Safety and supervision
We know that building works can sometimes raise questions, and we want to reassure you that student safety remains our top priority. Staff will continue to supervise children closely as they move across campus, offering extra support where needed to help everyone feel safe and confident.
Although these changes are temporary, they have been carefully planned to minimise disruption. Our Preparatory School staff will continue to focus on ensuring students feel secure and happy at School while the redevelopment progresses.
