Imagine a new, state-of-the-art climbing wall. Bigger. Bolder. Higher.
Paired with additional changeroom facilities, this project will transform our Sports & Swimming Centre, creating a space where students can challenge themselves to build confidence and character.
Why it matters
At Westminster, some of the most powerful learning happens beyond the classroom.
The Sports & Swimming Centre is an important part of this student journey. It is a place where students can start to discover what they are capable of whilst on campus.
Outdoor Education sits at the heart of a Westminster education, and the indoor climbing wall is essential to fully support programs such as Outdoor Education, the Duke of Edinburgh Award and Certificate III in Outdoor Leadership.
The current climbing wall has served us well but is reaching the end of its life. Instead of just replacing the wall, we are reaching higher with a new state-state-of-the-art climbing wall. Built in a new location on the indoor courts and built higher for greater adventures.
With the introduction of a new climbing wall, we can elevate our climbing program while freeing valuable indoor space to be transformed into much-needed additional changerooms facilities.
More than a replacement, this is a step forward, securing the future of Outdoor Education and strengthening Westminster’s leadership for years to come.
