Student Achievements - Edition 7 - 2022

Congratulations to the following students on their achievements...

Congratulations Javon Brijmohan (Year 11 Kelly) who was awarded the Mort Daly South Australian Athlete of the Year, an outstanding achievement!

Connor Hunt (Year 8 Kelly) has been selected in the State Armada Charter Baseball team (Under 14s) and he will be playing in the national tournament in Mildura.

Westminster had an outstanding representation as part of the South Australia State Team at the recent Australian Track and Field Championships in earlier April including:

  • Tessa Ebert - Gold in U15 1500m and Silver in U15 3000m
  • Jessica McManus - Silver in U18 800m and Silver in U18 1500m
  • Leila Crocker - U17 Javelin, Long Jump and fourth in Hurdles
  • Angus Hincksman - Silver 1500m Open Age Ambulant Race and Bronze 800m
  • James McManus - PB in U16 1500m and 800m

Jessica and Angus have also been selected for the Australian Team at the upcoming Oceania Athletics Championships.

Ruby Insanally (Year 8 Kelly) and Isaac Afonso (Year 8 Woollacott) competed in the Gold Coast recenlty at the National Gymnastics Championships in trampolining. Isaac is now the Level 6 National Champion in both individual and synchronised and Ruby is now the Level 6 National Champion in synchronised and received a silver medal for individual.

As mentioned in the last eNews, a group of Westminster students recently participated in the 2022 Victorian Youth Championships for sailing. In the Laser 4.7’s division, Grady Sayers (Year 9 Fricker) came in eighth place, Charlie Edwards (Year 9 Carter) came in ninth place, and Hudson Donnelley (Year 7 Clark) came in 23rd place. A big congratulations to these students.
