Student Achievements - Edition 6 - 2021

Congratulations to the following students on their achievements...

Seb Young (Year 12 Dunstan) has recently returned from Hamilton, Victoria where he participated in the State U19 Cricket Carnival representing South Australia. Congratulations Seb!

Jessica McManus (Year 11 Jeffries), James McManus (Year 8 Jeffries) and Tessa Ebert (Year 8 Carter) all competed at the Athletics South Australia Championships. Jessica came 1st in the U17 800m. James came 1st in the U15 1500m and 3rd in the 800m. Tessa came 1st in the U14 1500m and 2nd in the 800m. James and Tessa also both competed in the Little Athletics SA Championships, with James coming 1st in the U14 1500m and 2nd in the 800m, and Tessa coming 1st in the U14 1500m and 2nd in the 800m.

Jessica McManus, James McManus, Tessa Ebert, Angus Hincksman (Year 10 Woollacott) and Will Mattinson (Year 10 Forder) all recently represented South Australia at the Athletics Australia Championships in Sydney. Congratulations to them all on their participation. At the event, Angus not only set two new Personal Best records, but also managed to set a new T38 National and State record in the Men’s U17 800m event.

Katie Natt (Year 10 Forder) recently competed in the Surf Life Saving State Championships and won eight Gold Medals including the Iron Woman. Katie also won the 2km beach run and 2 x 1km relay. Two weeks prior to this, Katie competed at State Open Water Championships coming 1st in the U15 5km Swim and 3rd in the Open 5km Swim. Katie also swam at the State Age Long Course Swimming Championships picking up eight medals including 1st in the 800m and 1500m Freestyle.

In the school holidays, Mattias McCarthy (Year 11 Jeffries) and Katie Natt competed at the Australian Age Swimming Championships. Congratulations Mattias and Katie!

Isaac Afonso (Year 7 Woollacott) won the Level 6 State Championships for Trampolining Gymnastics in the holidays and came 2nd in Synchronised trampolining. Ruby Insanally (Year 7 Kelly) won the female Level 6 and Synchronised.

Lily Laan (Year 7 Clark) performed in the recent ‘Get the Beat’ Dance Competitions in the U11 Division. Lily scored double platinum (90-95/100) in all four of her solos, achieved 2nd position in the ballet and song and dance section, and an Honourable Mention for her lyrical dance. This is a wonderful achievement and we congratulate Lily for her efforts and these fine results.
