Student Achievements - Edition 5 - 2019

Congratulations to the following students on their achievements...

There are some things in sport that rarely happen and a hat trick in cricket is one of those. The term 'hat trick' originated in cricket, where it refers to three wickets taken by a bowler in three consecutive balls. On Tuesday 19 March, in a game against Scotch College, Taaj Nicholls (Year 10 Forder) not only took a hat trick of three wickets in three balls, but took it further by taking four wickets in a row! Mr Orman, who has been playing and coaching cricket for over 40 years, has never seen this happen before! Taaj also ended up taking five wickets in a T20 game which is also very rare! Well done Taaj!

In the recent Southern Vales Dressage Club competitions, Olivia Buchanan (Year 10 Dunstan) achieved a 1st place in both Elementary 3C Interschool Secondary and in Novice 2C Interschool Secondary. Congratulations Olivia!

James Phegan (Year 10 Forder) attended the 2019 IPSC Australia shooting national competition in NSW recently. James achieved two Stage wins (Stages 16 and 19), 1st Master Grade production division Australia, 1st Super Junior and 1st Junior production division Australia, 2nd overall production division Australia (national runner up), Grand Master grade production division (first Super Junior ever to do so), and 1st SA Team in Gold Production teams event Australia. James was chosen to be a member of the Australian Production team (Adult) to compete at Australasians later this year. James now has his sights set on Australasians later this year and his preparations for this and the World Shoot in Thailand in 2020.
