Student Achievements - Edition 3 - 2022

Congratulations to the following students on their achievements...

Leila Croker (Year 10 Woollacott) and Sharni Wood (Year 10 Jeffries) participated in SA Athletics State and Track championships a couple of weeks ago in the U17 Women competition. Leila placed 1st in the Long Jump, 1st in the 100m Hurdles and 2nd in the 200m. Sharni placed 2nd in the 100m hurdles, 5th in the 100m and 7th in the 200m. Leila and Sharni qualified to represent South Australia at Nationals’ in NSW in March/April.

Leila also competed in the Australia U15-U18 Combined Events Championships held in Sydney a couple of weeks ago and won gold. Leila won the Women’s U17 Heptathlon title with 5006 points.

Max Junge (Year 7 Fricker) auditioned recently and was selected as one of 12 children from Adelaide to be part of the children’s choir for the State Opera production of La Boheme. Congratulations Max!

The SA Laser State Sailing competition was held recently. In the Radials category, Jack Higgins (Year 12 Forder) finished in 6th place overall. In the 4.7 category, Grady Sayers (Year 9 Fricker) came 2nd and Charlie Edwards (Year 9 Carter) came 3rd.

Jack, Grady and Charlie also competed in the Tri-Series, Jack came 2nd in the radials while in the 4.7 class Grady came 1st and Charlie came 2nd.

Sienna Blewitt (Year 8 Clark) and Janet Wang (Year 8 Fereday) competed on Saturday at the State Surf Carnival at Aldinga for R&R (Rescue & Resuscitation). They placed 1st overall in U13s! The girls are part of Brighton Surf Life Saving Club and will now compete at the Australian titles on the Gold Coast in early April. Well done girls.

A group of our Senior School students competed in the Schools SA State Championships Triathlon recently, with their outstanding achievements resulting in second place for Westminster in the Sam White Memorial Trophy!

Adelle Parkinson-Need (Year 8 Fereday) was awarded second place in the U15 State Championships.
Jordan Tucker (Year 7 Clark) was awarded third place in the U15 Come and Try.
