School Bus Service - Edition 1 - 2021

School Bus Service

For those families using our School Bus Service, we thank you for your support. In particular, we are grateful for your understanding as we settle in the changes that have come with a rush at the start of the school year. Just as importantly, we apologise for the instances where the changes have impacted on your expectations for our bus services. We have been doing our best to find or finetune solutions without compromising the updated services. Tickets for the bus service (all routes) are available through the Westminster Shop.

The new routes and times to School are found on our School Bus Routes page. Our bus drivers get to know students well and understand the movements of families to make catching the bus as easy as possible, without affecting the arrival time at School. Leaving School in the afternoon at 3.40 pm, the buses follow the same routes in reverse:

Bus Route A (Coastal Service, including Glenelg, Brighton, Somerton, West Lakes) – this service is unchanged.

Bus Route B (Hills service, commencing at the Crafers Interchange to wind its way towards Belair, Coromandel Valley before heading down Shepherds Hill Rd) – this is a new service that has already attracted interest from families in these areas; we’re using a Westminster seven seater Kia Carnival for starters until we understand the likely pattern of demand for this new service.

Bus Route C (Flagstaff Hill, Aberfoyle Park) – this service is unchanged.

Bus Route D (Unley, Westbourne Park, Colonel Light Gardens) – while the core remains the same, the start has been reworked and it will now complete its journey towards School by coming down Winston Ave rather than South Rd.

Bus Route E - (Mt Compass, Willunga, McLaren Vale) – this is a new service that is already proving popular.

We are also asking families to register their interest in any of these services by completing a School Bus Services Form. Your interest in a service may range from being a regular user to just thinking about it. It does not lock any family to the service but instead this ‘expression of interest’ will be used to help with communications so that if we have to update you quickly about a change in service, we can do so in a more targeted and meaningful way. If you have an interest in more than one service, register for each run.

Thank you again for supporting the bus services we run at Westminster. The Adelaide Metro service still runs through Blackwood to drop off and pick up from School with some minor adjustments to their 2021 timetable.
