Early Learning to Year 12

Old Scholar News - Edition 4 - 2021

Reunions

We had to cancel the planned joint 5 Year Reunions for Friday 12 March but pleased to be able to host a small group from 2014 to 2016 who were keen to see the Inquiry and Innovation Hub – this fine group then enjoyed a drink together at the Marion Hotel. The plan from here is that we will schedule the 5 Year Reunions for later in the year as their own year group event. The next reunion planned is the Classes of 1995/1996 25 Year Reunion on Friday 21 May in the new Thomas Pavilion at Westminster. However, WOSA will be in contact with you (and other year groups) shortly to discuss the format of the evening so that each cohort is able to hold a reunion that is their significant event to remember.

WOS Netball Club

After a few years of being in hibernation, we are ready for the resurgence of the Westminster Old Scholars’ Netball Club into the AMND Winter Season. Two senior teams have been registered – one in C1 and the other in C2. We have also entered a team into the Sub Juniors (Grade 3) for players born in 2008 or 2009. This would suit Year 7 players in the 7A team but not 7B team due to a Saturday match time clash (please note that School netball takes priority). It may suit some Year 6 players too since their competition is on a Friday night. We‘re excited to see Old Scholar netball up and running again, and thank School parent (and also a parent of recent Old Scholars) Jenny Bromley for initiating the charge. If you are interested in finding out more about playing for WOSNC, please contact Peter Trenorden (’77), WOSAEO, E: ptrenorden@westminster.sa.edu.au or T: 08 8276 0234, while logistical/operational details are still being confirmed.

WestFest

If you are at WestFest on Sunday 21 March, look for the Winemakers of Westminster wine tasting stall, which is being hosted by Old Scholars. We are spoilt for the choice of superb winemakers we have in our School community… and don’t forget to get your Cow Pat Lotto ticket, which commences at 6.00 pm on Sunday. Over two thirds are now sold of the 100-square grid with great odds that you will walk away as a substantial winner (you don’t have to be at WestFest to win): https://www.trybooking.com/BPQZJ.
