Statement from WOSA Executive Committee re the impact of COVID-19

The impact of COVID-19 is having unprecedented and far-reaching implications, including the cancellation of the much-loved Fun Fair (the first time this has happened in the Fair’s history).

The WOSA Committee, under the leadership of President Ian Hardwick (’00), is working with the School to follow its lead in how this situation is affecting the School community, including WOSA.

Consequently, with immediate effect:

  • all upcoming reunions have been postponed – this starts with the Classes of 2014 and 2015 5 Year Reunion planned for Friday 20 March and will extend to the end of June
  • the Golf Day planned for Friday 1 May at The Vines will not proceed for now – we will see how the COVID-19 response develops as to whether a spring Golf Day is an option but we are prepared to accept that year’s event may not happen
  • the Annual Dinner (Friday 7 August) is in doubt but we will again see how the COVID-19 response develops over the coming months.

We also understand that the WOS Football Club and WOS Soccer Club are looking for decisions from their respective codes/leagues as to how their seasons might look (or not).

To all Old Scholars and families, please look after yourselves and those around you – stay safe and healthy.
