Old Scholar News - Edition 18 - 2021

Classes of 2019/2020

The combined Classes of 2019 and 2020 First Year Out Reunion has been rescheduled to Wednesday 1 December in the Fireplace Room at the Warradale Hotel, 6.00 to 8.00 pm. Have the first Christmas drink on WOSA and some food too, further drinks are yours to manage. While there is no cover charge for this event, we still need to have some idea as to how many to expect for both catering and COVID reasons. There has been a strong response so far and with a number cap to the space, please make sure you register your interest as soon as possible through: https://www.trybooking.com/BUYZL.

Westminster End of 60th Anniversary Year Thanksgiving Service

As Westminster’s 60th Anniversary draws to a close, we are planning to hold a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday 5 December at 3.30 pm in the Sir Shirley Jeffries Memorial Chapel. The service will be led by School Chaplain Reverend Phil Hoffmann who will be ably assisted by three of Westminster’s former Chaplains: Reverend David Purling, Reverend Dean Davidson (’73) and Pastor Patrick Gillespie. This will be a very special and fitting end to the School’s anniversary year and we encourage you to join us. Community health guidelines permitting, we are planning for light refreshments to follow the service. As we must still be mindful of spacing and keeping a cap on numbers within the Jeffries Chapel, we are asking anyone interested in attending to register via this link: https://www.trybooking.com/BVTTM.

Past Staff Event

Here’s a ‘save the date’ for your diary if you are a past staff member. Community health guidelines permitting, we would like to invite past staff back to Westminster as a final event in our 60th Anniversary Year. This function is planned for Wednesday 15 December and will be held in the new Thomas Pavilion on the Main Oval. We are proposing to host a tour of the new Inquiry and Innovation Hub and Carter Wing at 3.00 pm and then return to the Thomas Pavilion to enjoy drinks and refreshments from 4.00 to 6.00 pm. Unlike Old Scholar reunions, there is no cover charge to attend as we’ll be handling the catering differently. For this event, the food will be on the School with a ‘cashless’ bar available for guests to buy their own drinks (ie EFTPOS only). Using past staff emails recorded, we will begin to circulate more details, including a link to book, over the coming week. If you have any queries about this event, please contact Peter Trenorden (’77), WOSAEO, E: ptrenorden@westminster.sa.edu.au or T: 08 8276 0234.
