Early Learning to Year 12
It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Greg Baker on Sunday 6 September 2020. Our thoughts are with Greg’s family.
Congratulations to the Westminster Old Scholars’ Football Club on finalising their (reduced) 2020 season on Friday 18 September with The Greenlow, held at the Glenelg Lifesaving Club.
Of note at the AGM, Richard Bund (’96) handed the Presidency over to WOSFC Committee Member, Jeremy Satchell. Andrew Nuske continues as Secretary and Brock McFarlane (’16) as Treasurer.
Major medal winners for the 2020 season are:
The Wayne Hughes Award was won by Craig Hall and this year’s recipient of the Luke Boylan Award (for an Old Scholar) is the amazing Scott Simpson (’77) (it is already rumoured Scott is ready for a comeback).
The Club also acknowledged legendary volunteers Adrian Allen and Pete McLean (’02) for their longstanding commitment to the Club. Ben Francis (’15) was also noted for having achieved 50 games in this shortened season.
We are delighted that Paul Sherwood will return as Club Coach. Even though it was not a full season by any stretch, WOSFC is already planning for next season with the possibility of a C Team, while consideration is being given to a Women’s Team and expansion of its junior program.
All the best to the Club for the 2021 season - Go Dragons!
