Early Learning to Year 12

Old Scholar News - Edition 1 - 2022

Reunions 2022

After a fractured couple of years of reunions, we have started the year again without being able to lock in our full program. In the next eNews, we will look to publish a proposed schedule for 2022. As a heads-up, we don’t expect to start our Reunion program until at least May and then have it run through to early December. I can share that we are still proposing to hold Old Scholars’ Day on Friday 29 July with a plan to host the Classes of 1970/1971/1972 50 Year Reunions as a lunch on that day. More on this to come as the new Forder Centre will be open by then, which will feature prominently on Old Scholars‘ Day. The WOSA Annual Dinner will be scheduled for later in the year and this will be outlined in the proposed schedule when released.

Vale Roy Harvey (’67)

We sadly advise that Roy ‘Locky’ Harvey, a Foundation Boarding Student in the Class of 1967, passed away on Wednesday 26 January 2022, following a fall and sustaining a head injury while working in Gol Gol, NSW. Our thoughts are with Roy’s wife Noelle, his mother Jean and his family during this time of great sadness.

Rev David Purling

Kym Purling (’89) has let us know that about two weeks ago that Rev David Purling had to undergo major and complicated emergency surgery to remove a massive tumour on his stomach. Our much-loved School Chaplain from 1977 to 1995 is currently in the RAH and his recovery is expected to be many weeks. Our thoughts and prayers are with David, Judith and his family during this time.
