Early Learning to Year 12

Head of Wellbeing - Edition 5 - 2019

Our Team is Growing!

Three weeks ago, we welcomed Melinda Pfueller to our Wellbeing team. Melinda is a Clinical Psychologist who has been working in private practice for about 12 years. Prior to that, she worked with the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), so she brings a depth of knowledge and experience to our team. Some of the areas in which she has worked extensively include anxiety, depression, family issues, eating disorders and trauma. Melinda works three days a week (Monday, Tuesday and Friday) and has already proven herself to be a great asset. Melinda grew up in Adelaide and is married with two children aged 12 and 9. In her spare time she enjoys travelling and yoga.

With the growth of the Wellbeing team, we are currently undergoing a review of our policies and procedures in relation to the services we offer here at School. Once these are complete, we will communicate them with the wider School community, so that you are clear about what options are available and the limits that may apply.

Parent Book Club

Next term, our Parent Book Club will be held on Wednesday 12 June at 7.00 pm in the Preparatory School’s Haslam Library. We will be looking at the book Daring Greatly: how the courage to be vulnerable transforms the way we live, love, parent and lead, by Brené Brown. If you are interested in attending, I encourage you to source the book (I know it is available online and possibly through bookstores as well). Closer to the date, I will send out a reminder and ask for RSVPs. The book club is open to all parents across the School from ELC to Year 12.
