A Uniting Church coeducational independent day and boarding school on Kaurna Country, Adelaide, South Australia
Early Learning to Year 12
Westminster School places high value on not only the academic development of our students but on their overall social and emotional development as well. Most people will be very aware that we are working with The Resilience Project (TRP) to provide a solid foundation for wellbeing and mental health.
In addition to TRP, from time to time we invite other outside speakers with particular areas of expertise to address both our students and our wider community. One such opportunity is coming up next Thursday evening, 17 February at 7.00 pm, when Jocelyn Brewer a psychologist and speaker will be presenting to parents on the topic of Digital Nutrition. Due to current circumstances, this will be a webinar rather than a face to face presentation. The advantage of this is of course that our Boarding parents will have the opportunity to join in, and also Jocelyn has kindly offered to record the session so that if the timing on Thursday does not work for you, you can see it at a later date.
With the amount of time our students spend on digital platforms, having some guidance around ways to manage this so that they develop healthy habits has probably never been more vital. Please see the attached flyer for more details and use the link below to register for the session. I strongly encourage all Westminster parents to participate in this wonderful opportunity provided by the school. Even if you don’t think you can make it on the night, it will be worth registering as that will ensure you received any links or resources that Jocelyn sends out to participants later.
Our students will be receiving the same message as Jocelyn will be providing a video presentation for our Year 7 to 12 classes. These were to have been face to face, but again due to COVID restrictions, we have decided to go ahead rather than postpone (for the third time!). You can find out more about Jocelyn at her website.
